
Workshop Description:
It is a workshop in 3 sessions, each of 3 hours, to raise the awareness of the attendees about the basics of Business skills and the role that Business English plays in acquiring them.
Mastering Business Skills in general is a cornerstone for survival in the job market; especially with the tough competition and the economic recession we are witnessing these days.
Workshop Objective:
Business Skills are required nowadays in order to be able to communicate within the workplace. First interviews are all about the skills that the job applicant has as they will qualify him to interact effectively within the work environment and will assist him to succeed as well. By the end of the workshop, attendants will be able to have a good background about the essential Business skills and how to develop them.
Workshop Outline:
First, the sessions start by checking the attendees’ background about Business Skills and their importance. Then, they relate the Business Skills they need for their different careers. After that, attendees will be given useful instructions on how to gain and improve these Business Skills. Attendees will be given the opportunity to practice these skills in pre-planned role-plays. The session ends by suggesting to the attendees a number of resources that they can use to learn more about these skills.
Target Audience:
Business Studies under-graduates and post-graduates, fresh graduates with different backgrounds, employees in private sector companies, ambitious employees targeting promotions from the entry-level to the middle-management level along with entrepreneurs and potential business owners; all of these categories can benefit from this workshop.

It takes 9 hours over 3 days (Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday)

Trainer’s Bio:
Lamiaa Amer is a Certified EFL (English as a Foreign Language) Instructor by the AUC (American University in Cairo). Graduated from Asyut University, Faculty of Education, English Language Department in 2008. Trained by and worked for Berlitz in 2009, joined the BBSA (Basic Business Skills Acquisition) project by Westwood Egypt and the FGF (Future Generation Foundation).
Then, moved to the American Chamber of Commerce – CDC (Career Development Center) as a Senior Business English Instructor. After that, worked as EFL Instructor and Soft Skills Trainer by AMIDEAST Egypt in the USAID program “Higher Education Initiative”. Next, hired by ESLSCA Business School as a Leading Instructor in the Language Unit working closely with the MBA (Master of Business Administration) holders. Also, worked for TIEC (Technology, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center) as a Certified Ideation Trainer. Currently, working as an IELTS and TOEFL trainer with scholarships, job opportunities, and immigration applicants. In addition, working as a Business English Trainer for Cemex Egypt.
